On Saturday July 9 the 610 coffins carrying the remains of recently identified victims of the Srebrenica massacre were transported from Visiko to the Battery Factory in Potocari in preparation for the following Mondays' service and burial on the tenth anniversary of the greatest war crime committed in Europe since World War Two.. Long chains of men passed the coffins from one to another and then were carefully placed on the factory floor where mothers daughters and sons caught a glimpse of their loved ones enshrouded remains for perhaps the first time and last time.. At Srebrenica an estimated 7,414 men and boys were murdered by Bosnian Serb forces.
