D Day Veterans

Jack Griffiths, 94 . After a stint in the Signals as a despatch rider in France in 1940 Jack served in the Glider Pilot Regiment landing in Normandy on D Day on June 1944 and then Arnhem during operation Market Garden in September 1944 . He was taken prisoner at Arnhem and later escaped from his POW camp after the chaos of the Dresden fire bombings in April 1945 with two other pilots making there way across enemy territory arriving in Torgau to see the US and Russian forces meet .
