The village of Shevkenkove lies south of Mykolayiv towards the fiercely fought over frontline and well within range of Russia’s artillery and sees a regular shelling and missile attack from the air . So much so that now 95% of the villages population has fled , the one’s that remain either feel they have nowhere else to go or refuse to give up their homes and the land they’ve lived on for generations .
