Charles Clore beach and park on the edge of Jaffa-Tel Aviv . Named after Charles Clore, a British financier, property magnate and philanthropist. The park was was built on the ruins of Al-Manshiyya, a Palestinian neighborhood whose residents fled after it was captured by the Irgun after fierce fighting in 1948 and were not allowed to return after the war. Some of Manshiyya’s inhabitants were expelled to Jordan, and others were sent by sea to Gaza and Egypt.
