Street scenes in the old centre of Erbil, the capital of oil rich Iraqi Kurdistan, a semi independent quasi state which is remarkably stable compared to Iraq's capital Baghdad . Supported by western allies, particularly the United States, the Kurdish Peshmerga forces saved Erbil from the brink of being overrun by ISIS two years ago .
