The school is based in the state university and offers the regions indigenous people the opportunity to take classes in their own language instead of Russian..Yakutsk is one of Russia's remotest cities which lies on a permafrost that never thaws, buildings therefore have to be built on stilts to prevent the structures heat from melting the foundations, causing subsidence.
