“I very fortunate for them to come out to me I was expecting to be taken by an ambulance to somewhere or other centre to have it done . I’m grateful of the fact and it helps me a lot because I’m completely disabled, I can’t weight bear or anything like that . Fortunately at this time of year I don’t go out much, you don’t want to with the Covid as well, I’ve been concerned about that, I’ve not been in touch with anybody . “
Dr Simona Malone and Dr Kostas Manis , GP’s with the Bexley Medical Group are currently giving their most vulnerable housebound patients their second vaccines . The Medical Group serves over 18,000 patients across it’s three sites , 160 of them housebound .
So far they have vaccinated nearly 4,500 patients , and about 93 percent of their over 80’s .
Housebound patients are given the Oxford Vaccine due to the fact that it travels well in comparison to the Phizer version .
