Falklands Project


Mick Dawson served as a Junior Marine in the Falklands conflict and celebrated his 18th birthday on June 12th “ in theatre” with a beer in his trench two days before the Argentine surrender .

Mick was with Air Defence Troop, HQ & Signals but his detachment lost all their equipment after their troops carrying ship was hit .

Since leaving the Marines Mick has written a number of books and completed several adventures in a row boat including a 7000 mile journey from Japan to San Francisco and navigating the Falklands .
Mick is devoted to helping other veterans and raises money for different charities including the Royal Marines Charity. He does this through his project Cockleshell Endeavour
