Francis Dymoke is a direct descendent of a long line of King’s Champions that go back to William the Conqueror and have been present at every Coronation since .
The Coronation banquet ended after George IV’s reign so a Champion’s role is no longer needed but Francis has applied to be at the Coronation of King Charles III in May 2023 .
