A rehabilitation centre for child soldiers in Marib run by a local NGO and with help of Saudi aid . According to UNICEF over 2000 children have been recruited to fight in Yemens civil war since 2015 .

Thanks to oil revenues and close ties with Saudi Arabia Marib could be viewed almost as an oasis of normalcy in a country torn apart by civil war . Since the conflict began in 2015 the town has expanded dramatically with Yemeni's flooding in from Houthi controlled areas attracted by the relative peace and stability .

Yemen has been in the midst of a civil war since 2015 when the President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi was forced to flee . A Saudi led coalition with 9 other Arab states named "Operation Decisive Storm " has since sought to restore Hadi with little effect .
